Letter from the President

On behalf of the Panhellenic Executive Board and our 5 National Panhellenic Conference chapters, welcome the website of the largest women’s organization on campus. My name is Lauren Jacobson, and I am the 2023 Panhellenic Council President.

I am so excited that you are considering joining the SHSU Panhellenic community. You are about to enter some of the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding years of your life and I hope you take advantage of all the opportunities Panhellenic has to offer.

Joining a sorority is more than just wearing the letters. It is about upholding the four pillars of Greek life: leadership, scholarship, sisterhood, and service. Concentrating on these four important areas ensures that Greek members will be versatile individuals ready to successfully handle their world during and beyond their collegiate years.

I found my home within Panhellenic life in Fall 2020, and I will do all I can to help you find that same uplifting experience too! Initially, I did not plan on joining a sorority during my time at SHSU, however signing up for Panhellenic recruitment helped me find the home away from home I was looking for. The women that I have met as a member of Panhellenic have welcomed me with open arms and given me unwavering support. These women push me out of my comfort zone, motivate me to excel in the classroom, and inspire me to be the best that I can be. I can wholeheartedly say that my time in Panhellenic has shaped me into the woman I am today, and I could not be prouder to serve this community.

Empowered Women, Empower Women

Panhellenic is home to hundreds of women who come together to support a cause, bring about change, uplift one another, and even provide company for lunch. Panhellenic is a place with well-rounded women, who at the end of the day, stick by each other through thick and thin. Being a part of a group of women dedicated to becoming even better women is truly empowering.
